The Pain of Unquiet Evenings

Restlessness can possess you like a vice during the night. Every murmuration becomes amplified, every shadow takes on a threatening form. You toss and turn, your insomnia symptoms mind racing, desperate for some elusive peace. Sleep, once a gentle refuge, has become a distant fantasy. The hours crawl by, each one an eternity of agony.

We seek for an/a/some escape, a place/safety/shelter where the pain/suffering/anguish can fade/disappear/evaporate, but often/always/sometimes the darkness persists/holds tight/remains. It's in these moments of isolation that we must find/create/forge our own/internal/personal light/strength/will. We must face/confront/stand against the emptiness/void/terror, and discover/remember/unearth the powerful spirit that lies within/deep inside/at our core.

Aching for Sweet Oblivion

The throes of oblivion was a siren's call, a searing promise of release. To drown in its embrace was to silence the incessant noise of existence. The world's sharp edges blurred under the lure of its calm.

To truly desire oblivion was to plead for a passing respite from the burden of being.
